violent offender program
The VOP Program was designed for adult men and women who have engaged in acts of general violence, including assaults, assaults on strangers, assaults in concert, gang activity and the like. The program is open to nonadjudicated adults struggling with controls on their anger. Group and individual therapy is available, as is medication evaluation with an in-house psychiatrist.
The format is, once again, focused on identifying attachment-related losses and the ways in which these have influenced violence; clients are provided a manual at intake, asked to complete assigments outside of group and present these to the group for feedback and criticism. At the completion of the program, if there is no evidence of substance abuse and a ‘Low’ score on dynamic risk appraisal, clients are graduated from the program.
